It makes sending both up and down the handline much safer as well. We have all seen a dropped drill bit hit the ground accidentally. I had one hit me on storm not long ago and just got lucky it wasn't worse. I knew my pole buddy up the pole would have never let that bit get away from him but between wet gloves and a dying head lamp, things can happen. That's when the Bit Grip came to life. These are made out of solid steel and each one comes with a very strong 12KN carabiner. I run 2 of these on my belt that way I have one for both my bit and socket.
